After 28 years of serving her community in a variety of medical positions, Susie decided to fulfill her dream of becoming a Real Estate Broker. With a love for her community and a heart to give back, helping her neighbors find their dream homes seemed to be her perfect fit.
Living in Washington county the majority of her life, Susie fell in love with the beautiful scenery and stately homes. Through the connections she made with the community, she felt she could serve her neighbors in a much higher capacity than she was able to while working in the medical field.
In 2010, after the real estate market bubble burst and short sales and bank owned property was all there was to work with, Susie realized the best way to learn and grow in the industry was to start at the worst of times where she could take her time learning, developing her marketing skills and gaining the experience she needed to succeed. Tough times and adversity drove her to excel during a time when many were leaving the real estate world and moving on to other job opportunities; this proved to be just the kind of challenge she thrives in, and succeeds. She currently is a Principal Broker with John L Scott in Forest Grove. COMMUNITY: “I love helping people, especially first time home buyers. Most of my clients end up becoming my lifetime friends.”
In becoming a realtor, a major part of Susie’s life, community involvement, has flourished. With the flexibility of her hours and through the variety of connections she’s made in her career, she’s been able to contribute countless hours in fundraising for her community as well as volunteer hours to help those in need.
Susie utilizes social media to raise awareness for a multitude of organizations. She formed a small business group on Facebook that has been going strong for years. This “get to know each other and share ideas” network allows her and others like her to support local businesses and refer clients. It has proven to be a very successful venture.
She has donated her time and finances to local charities such as private cancer charity, Angels Making a Difference, Forest Grove Elks, Friends of Historic Forest Grove, Forest Grove Uncorked and has spearheaded various local business crowd-funding in an effort to boost local businesses and assist with the financial burdens many local businesses face.
Ultimately, Susie is a “cheerleader” for fellow business owners and local residents. She is a big advocate of “referral services,” helping other businesses stay afloat. She truly stands by the motto, “High tides float all boats.”
FAMILY: Susie has a deep love and connection with her children and grandchildren. She revels in the opportunity to fill her house with love and laughter.
She loves the great northwest and traveling to beautiful camping locations in her RV with her sidekicks “Bubbles” her Boston Terrier, and "Bear" her English Bulldog. She also enjoys supporting her local wineries and her closest friends and she does all she can to support and encourage their professional ventures in life.
